Fred H. Griffin

Northwest artist and graphic design instructor, taught at Burnley School of Professional Art & Art Institute of Seattle from 1960 - 2010. His work was shown in many Northwest galleries throughout his career.

Griffin always has a notebook handy, in his vest pocket, ready for solving problems, and later used as reference when he gets to his studio. He is a scrounger, saving pieces of bone and wood, broken objects, anything that intrigues him. He tries to combine as many things as possible because he feels that painting combined with sculpture, and assemblage is more effective than either of those mediums alone.
